About Steward & Legacy
We're a small, independent firm of estate attorneys, CFPs, and family-governance specialists who believe the best plans are personal, patient, and built for decades — not quarters.
How we began
In 1998, founder Eleanor Voss left a large trust practice frustrated that families were handed thick binders and little else. She started Steward & Legacy with a simple rule: no plan leaves the office until the client can explain it back, in their own words.
Three decades on, that rule still governs every engagement. We've stayed intentionally small — four partners, one location, no proprietary products to sell — so that every family gets the same unhurried attention as our first.
What guides us
If you can't explain a clause to your spouse, we haven't finished our job. We write and speak in plain English, not statute references.
We don't sell insurance, funds, or proprietary trusts. Our only incentive is a plan that serves your family well.
Numbers are the easy part. We spend as much time on communication and governance as on documents.
Laws change, families grow. Every plan ships with a review cadence, not a one-time signature.
